With 3 Blacklamps rising to the surface (and only one now remaining to be sold) it gives us an opportunity to go back through time to its development from concept to design to manufacture. What better place is there to start than with Morta? This is the material from which the watch is crafted, a special form of carbon fibre which has a unique look and feel to it. The case’s textured finish is the result of experimentation with a material better known for the sleek, shiny aesthetic of sports cars. At Schofield we prefer things a little more austere and so this was our endgame when designing the Blacklamp, an aim which we know was realised in the finished product.
