We do not normally receive or store your complete debit or credit-card number. Card payments are processed by third-party payment providers.
If you give us another person’s information, for example when sending a gift, you should make sure you have their permission to do so.
3 How we collect information
We collect information:
- When you place an order
- When you create or use an account
- When you contact us
- When you subscribe to the Six Pips or another Schofield mailing
- When you browse the website and consent to relevant cookies or tracking
- From payment, delivery and technical-service providers where necessary to complete a transaction or protect the website
4 Why do we use your information
We use personal information for the following purposes.
Orders and customer service
We use your information to process payments, fulfil orders, arrange delivery, manage returns and repairs and answer questions.
Our lawful basis is normally that the processing is necessary to perform our contract with you or to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
Payments, accounting and legal records
We use transaction information for payment administration, accounting, tax, fraud prevention and compliance with our legal obligations.
Our lawful bases are legal obligation, contract and our legitimate interests in protecting the business and maintaining accurate records.
Customer information is not transferred automatically to Xero. Where we issue an invoice or make an accounting entry manually, relevant information may be entered into Xero.
Newsletters and marketing
If you subscribe, we use your information to send the Six Pips, One Toot and related Schofield communications.
Klaviyo manages these mailings and associated flows. These may include a welcome sequence, abandoned-cart messages and abandoned-product messages. Klaviyo may record delivery, opening, clicking and purchasing activity so that we can understand whether our communications are useful and relevant.
We send marketing where you have consented or, in limited circumstances, where the law permits us to contact an existing customer about similar products. You may unsubscribe at any time by using the link in an email or by contacting us.
Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.
Website operation, analytics and security
We use technical information to operate and secure the website, diagnose faults, prevent misuse and understand how the site is being used.
Where consent is required for analytics or tracking technologies, we rely on your consent. For strictly necessary security and operational activities, we rely on our legitimate interests in maintaining a safe and functional website.
We use Google Analytics where you have consented through our cookie controls.
Advertising technology such as Meta Pixel may also be used where it is enabled and you have consented. Our cookie controls should allow you to accept or reject this technology.
Legal claims and business administration
We may use information where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, meet regulatory requirements or manage the business.
Our lawful bases are legal obligation and our legitimate interests.

We do not sell personal information.
Where necessary, we may share it with:

6 International transfers
Some of our service providers operate outside the United Kingdom or allow information to be accessed from other countries.
Where personal information is transferred outside the UK, we require an appropriate legal safeguard. This may include UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an approved UK addendum to standard contractual clauses.

We keep information only for as long as it is reasonably required.
As a general guide:
- Order, invoice and accounting records are normally retained for at least six years after the relevant accounting period
- Customer-account and transaction records may be retained for up to six years after the last purchase or activity
- Enquiries that do not lead to a transaction are normally retained for up to three years after the last contact
- Marketing information is retained until you unsubscribe, withdraw consent or the information is no longer required
- A limited suppression record may be retained after an unsubscribe so that we do not contact you again
- Technical and security records are retained for as long as reasonably required to operate and protect the website
Information may be kept longer where it is needed for a dispute, legal claim, warranty, regulatory enquiry or other legal obligation.

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are strictly necessary for the operation of the website, shopping basket, checkout, customer accounts and security.
With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website. We also use Klaviyo technologies for newsletter sign-up forms, email measurement and features including welcome, abandoned-cart and abandoned-product communications.
Non-essential analytics and marketing technologies are not activated unless you consent to them. You can accept or reject these technologies and change your preferences at any time using the website’s cookie controls.
