A super rare shagreen watch strap on the super rare Signalman Bare Bones. The Shagreen strap you will notice has not a stitch on it because the needle would break upon hitting the extremely hard dermal denticles. Dermal denticles or placoid scales cover the skin of elasmobranchs (sharks and rays) and each one is like a little tooth covered in enamel. When the skin is tanned into leather it is known as shagreen. These hides are not CITES protected. We only have one shagreen watch strap left in regular size… This German Silver dialled BB watch is also the last one.
