Evening all
It has been a proper Riverside Store as a store these last couple of weeks. Many visitors and often all at once. Lots of coffee. Obscuras and Skeptikos have left the building on new wrists. Happy people.
Obscuras
Are thin on the ground now. Don’t hang about – you may regret it. I say this because of feedback from you: ‘I wish I’d pulled the trigger on a Blacklamp,’ ‘I wish I’d been quicker on the Telemark,’ etc. While I’m at it, it’s not just watches – the UV torch, Ladyfinger, even caps. So, naturally, I have to tell you to push the button! Push it!
B&W
We had much monotone in the last Pips, but here are the Artefacts in their unusual glory.
AT IT
Making the Pips.
RIVERSIDE
The Schofield Riverside shop is on the high street of a small Sussex village called Upper Beeding, an old place with houses built from flint. The shop is a few yards from the river Adur that runs out to sea at Shoreham. Just over the bridge we have Bramber with the remains of a Norman castle. A little further Steyning, the town I grew up in.
The chains
This pic perfectly sums up my recent run up The Chains on Exmoor. A dreary place when it rains. Daniel Defoe described it as ‘filthy and barren ground‘, which put Londoners off visiting. That’s why I love it – few still go there. I’ll take filthy and barren too.
Peace ✦
