The Schofield cricket ball straps takes inspiration from the stitching patterns used in cricket ball fabrication and is made from the same leather used by Dukes in their Special County “A” – Grade 1 – cricket balls. In the world of cricket two names are synonymous with the craft of ball making. In the southern hemisphere the Kookaburra ball is pre-eminent while in the Northern hemisphere we have the Dukes Cricket Ball. The Dukes Special County “A” – Grade 1 – Red cricket ball is used exclusively for Test Matches in England as well as all First Class County Cricket.
A buckle is not included but can be bought separately.
These screwdrivers have been designed from the ground up. We threw away the shackles of the Swiss realising that we do not need watchmaking screwdrivers for changing straps. Watchmaking screwdrivers are designed for vertical use, whereas any Schofield strap changer worth his salt will know that this is a horizontal task! We need short and stubby reducing off-axis leverage and increasing torque. The blades have been ground to fit the Schofield screw heads so precisely that they block out the light! Two drivers for changing straps and one for buckles. A set of three; two green, one black.
