The bronze Beater on a Tiger Loaf leather strap. The case is not bright, fresh from the mill like so many other bronze cases, instead Schofield chose to force patinate the bronze to get you on your way. So what do we do to the case to achieve this? The detailed technique is a trade secret but here is a simplified list of the process. The cases are CNC turned, milled and wire-eroded, de-burred then cleaned. Inspected and measured, roughly polished, bead-blasted with 50 micron glass beads at 4 psi, hand-burnished, cleaned. Dipped in a solution of selenium dioxide and hydrochloric acid, cleaned, hand-rubbed then cleaned once again.
